Family photo from the air
Everyone together in the garden, on the beach or in a field, photographed from straight above. It is the most classic photo there is, from an angle nobody else has of your family. And it is the simplest job I do.
How it works in practice
- We pick a time when the light is right. Early morning or the last hour before sunset gives warm colour and long shadows. Midday light is hard and flat, and you see that immediately in the photo.
- You need to prepare nothing except the people. I say on site where everyone should stand or lie down. Seen from above, shapes work well: a circle, a row, everyone on a blanket.
- The garden of an ordinary terraced house is enough. I do not need a big site, but I do need open sky above the group. Under a dense tree it does not work, because I literally cannot see you.
- I fly an aircraft under 250 grams. That lets me get closer to people than a heavier drone would, which is exactly what a group photo needs. Flying over a crowd is still not allowed, but a family is not a crowd.

What it costs
A family photo from the air starts from 50 euros. For that I come out, fly for half an hour and you get the edited photos in high resolution. If you want a short video as well, or two spots, we agree that separately. This kind of job rarely goes beyond around 200 euros.
Frequently asked questions
How many people can be in it?
As many as you can gather. From above, the group is rarely the problem, the space below is: a garden four by six metres is too small for thirty people. Tell me how many you are and I will tell you which spot works.
Is it allowed in my garden?
In most gardens, yes. I check your address on the official airspace map, because part of this area is restricted because of Brussels Airport. If clearance is needed I say so in advance, and it costs you nothing extra.
Can I get my house in the photo?
Yes, that is exactly the appeal of a shot from above. I usually make a set: one straight down, and one at an angle with the house and the street in frame.
How soon do I get the photos?
Two to three working days after the shoot, edited and ready to print. If you need them sooner for a party, say so in advance.
